Seminar on Pashtu, Dari, & Urdu language as cultural and linguistic heritage along with Nouroz Festival held in Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi


The Department of Persian & Central Asian studies, JNU, NCPUL with the cooperation of Embassy of Afghanistan has organized a seminar & Nauroz Festival on 20 March 2017. Dr. Sheyda Abdol Ali Honrable Ambassdor of Afghanistan to India; Dr. Ali Dehgahi The Cultural Counselor of Iran, New Delhi; Prof. S. M. Jagdish, VC JNU, Prof. Chintamani, Dean, Faculty of Languages. Prof. Khaliq Rasheed & Prof. Ainul Hasan were present in the seminar.


Program was started with Sofrah Haftseen along with Dari & Pashtu songs while Prof. Ainul Hasan has welcomed the delegates & guests. Dr. Sheyda AbdolAli has said that Nouroz is one of most ancient Arian ritual practices and it has been recognized by UNO also.

 

Prof. Chinta mani emphasized on the moral aspect of Nauroz and told that nauroz can be a element of unification among the people.
Prof. Jagdish said that we to resolve the social challenges keeping in view of the cultural similarities.

Dr. Dehgahi congratulated the audience and recited some couplet of Sadi. He further discussed about the historical background of Nauroz as we can witness it in books like Akber nameh and Tozok Jahangiri. At the end he mentioned about the cultural practices of Nauroz in Iran.
