Inauguration of Persian class in the dept. of History of Delhi University on 19th sept. 2016

 

Iran Culture House, New Delhi has started the teaching of Persian language to the scholars of History of Delhi University on 21st Sept. It was inaugurated on 19th by Dr. Ali Dehgahi the Cultural Counsellor Embassy of I.R.Iran, New Delhi and was attended by the Head of History Dept, Professor Jaffery and Scholars of History.


Prof. Jaffry in his speech said that for the study of Medieval history one has to learn Persian. He further mentioned about the activities of Iran Culture House for the promotion of Persian language and literature.

 


Dr. Ali Dehgahi mentioned about the common Cultural Heritage of India and Iran and said that many of the books of Medieval History have been written in Persian like Tajul Maathir. There are number of Manuscript Persian in different libraries of India and even more than Iran. This year the teaching of Persian to the students of other dept. has been started in Jamia Millia, Jamia Hamdard, D.U and Rohilkhand University. Even Iran Culture House has started the teaching of Persian which is very encouraging. In Hindu, Urdu and other languages there are lot of Persian words so in order to understand them, it is essential to learn Persian. The Persian learning book by Safar Moggaddam has been introduced to the scholars who are learning Persian.
