"Arbaeen in Persian Poetry" welcome of New Cultural Counsellor and farewell of Dr. Ali Dehgahi was held in the monthly Literary gathering of Anjumen-e-Bedil Dehlavi in Iran Culture House, New Delhi

 

A program "Arbaeen in Persian Literature" was held on Thursday October 17, 2019 at Iran Culture House, New Delhi. it was attended by Dr. Ali Chegini, Honorable Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to India, Hujjatulislam Mehdi Mahdavi Pur, representative of the Supreme Leader in India, Dr. Mohammad Ali Rabbani, Cultural Counsellor in Delhi, and Dr. Ali Dehgahi, former Cultural Counsellor of Islamic Republic of Iran in Delhi, Dr. Ali Reza Qazveh, Deputy Cultural Counsellor of Iran in India, Dr. Mahdi Khuaja Piri, Director, Noor International Microfilm Center, New Delhi, Dr. Ehsanollah Shokrollahi, Director Persian Research Center, New Delhi, Professor Seyed Ain ul-Hassan Dean of the Faculty of Foreign & Indian Languages, JNU, Professor Akhlaq Ahan, JNU, Professor Iraq Reza Zaidi, Dr. Kalim Asghar, JMI, Professor Sharif Hussain Qasemi, Prof. Qamar Ghafar, Dr. Shamim Al-Haq Siddiqui, Dr. Balram Shukla, Asghar Heydari, scholars, students and number of fans of Persian culture and literature were present.


In this programme, the Honorable Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Chegini, spoke about the richness of cultural values related to the doctrine of Imam Husain (a.s) and thoughtfully stated that the Persian literature is full of the meanings & messages of Ashura and Arbaeen.


Dr. Rabbani said that we can have a good interaction with Indian scholars and academicians as Persian is one of our top priorities in India and it is a part of our shared culture heritage. He added that the phenomenon of Arbaeen can be described as a way of life.


Hujjatulislam Mahdavi Pur, the representative of the Supreme Leader in India, has also called Arbaeen a unique event in the world where more than 25 million pilgrims gathered from more than 100 countries.


Professor Sharif Hussein Qasemi, Professor Qamar Ghaffar and Prof. Iraq Professor Raza Zaidi also warmly welcomed the new Cultural counsellor and greeted Dr. Ali Dehgahi.


The Hon"ble Ambassador of I.R.Iran Dr. Chegeni presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr. Ali Dehgahi.


Dr Ali Reza Qazveh conducted the whole program, described about the Persian-speaking poets of India about Ashura and Arbaeen, and told that he is very optimistic about the fan following of Persian literature in India which is growing tremendously.

Dr. Shokrollahi, Professor Ainul-Hassan, Professor Akhlaq Ahan and Mehdi Baqar and Dr. Aziz Mehdi, Ali Asghar Al-Haidari also recited their Persian poems about Arbaeen.

Dr. Ali Dehgahi said that Arbaeen is a global movement & a journey of love as pilgrims walk the path of love for Imam Hussein (AS) and the Hussaini movement and the Ashura thought. Today it includes all religions.

Dr. Dehgahi then read a Ghazal from Hafiz related to the Ashura event and gave some explanations about it.

In the concluding phase, Dr. Ali Dehgahi presented a report on cultural activities and collaborations to the audience and introduced Dr. Ali Rabbani as the new Cultural Counsellor.
