Cultural Counsellor of Iran in New Delhi met Dean, faculty of International Relations, University of Delhi


Dr. Mohammad Ali Rabbani met Prof. H. P. Singh, Dean, faculty of International Relations, University of Delhi on October 28, 2019 and discussed about cultural & academic activities on common ground including third Round of Cultural Dialogue between India and Iran.


Dr. Rabbani expressed his immense satisfaction with previous co-operations of Indian institutions in carrying out cultural activities, considering the academic capacities of the two countries as the main pillar of cultural co-operations between the two countries as the two countries has been engaged with the development of academic and cultural cooperation.
Dr. Rabbani, referred while referring to two rounds of Indo - Iran cultural dialogue, said: we suggest the Delhi University for hosting the third round of cultural dialogue due to its significance in Indian academics.


He also promised the presence of VC"s (Iran) and representatives of Iran"s top ten universities during this round of talks as an opportunity to form a new era of academic and cultural relations between the two countries.

Prof. H. P. Singh also welcomed the ideas and said that the growth of scientific and technological achievements in Iran is an opportunity for academic and scientific cooperation between two ancient civilizations.

He also mentioned about the number of Iranian students who are currently studying at the university"s postgraduate courses.

Prof. Singh announced the willingness for any bilateral activities and expressed hope that a third round of cultural talks could be held at the University in a coordination with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

In addition, Dr. Rabbani also visited the Department of Persian of Delhi University and met Prof. Rajendra Kumar, Head of the Persian department, Prof. Aleem Ashraf Khan, Ex. HoD, Persian, Dr. Ali Akber Shah, other teachers, as well as a number of PhD and pre-doctoral students.

 

The HoD Persian have briefed about the department"s current activities and plans.

Dr. Rabbani also appreciated the hard work of Indian Teachers & Researchers of Persian literature and said that to learn Persian language is not just accessing a foreign language, but a gateway to authentic culture, civilization and ethical human values.

 

He also encouraged students to study contemporary Iranian literature and today"s Iranian literature and called for greater engagement & collaboration with Iran Culture house, New Delhi.
