Participation of Iran Culture House - New Delhi in 12th Global Film Festival Noida 2019

 

12th Global festival 2019 with the participation of India, Iran, Ukraine, Kazakhstan & Bosnia was held at Marwah Studios, Noida from 13th - 15th November 2019. Iran Culture House, New Delhi has actively participated in this cultural event by attending and screening three films each day as well as organizing an artistic cultural exhibition in the same venue. The first day of the festival was dedicated to Iran, with three Iranian films, "Where are my shoes?", "A Five Stars" and "Happy". Also during this round of the Noida Film Festival, a pavilion was dedicated for the presentation of Iran"s Arts & Handicrafts.
Dr. Ali Rabbani, Cultural Counselor of Iran in Delhi at the opening ceremony of the festival, said that the film industry is one of the most effective media tool that provides the opportunity to visualize, reflect and critique many cultural, political and social phenomena in the form of art. He also referred to cinema as one of the most important elements in diplomacy and international relations between societies, which enables the interaction and communication of nations more than anything else.


He further added that the Indian cinema has played a great role in manifesting a very positive imaginary of India in the mind of people of Iran and vice versa Iranian Cinema also had key role to present the real picture of Iran to the Indian society.
It has no doubt that besides expanded historical & cultural potentials between India & Iran, Indo - Iranian Cinema could discover fresh possibilities for more interaction & cooperation between these two countries.


The eastern approach of Indo - Iranian Cinema towards social issues especially family affairs among the thousands of common cultural & historical themes which exist between these two ancient civilizations could be a great platform for cooperation in the field of Cinema between these two big nations of Asia.


The great changes & advancement of Iranian especially post Islamic Revolution along with Indian Cinema which is world known industry, can develop a great coordination in this field.


I feel honored to announce that as a Cultural Counselor of Iran one of my focus area is to simplify & expand the possibilities of Indo - Iranian coordination in the field of Cinema.


Dr. Marwah, President of the Marwah Media and Film Institute, also spoke at the opening ceremony of the festival, sharing the experience of Indian filmmakers with other countries, as well as providing educational opportunities for film students as one of the main goals of the festival. He praised the valuable capacity for cinema cooperation between India and Iran. Dr. Marwa also thanked the Islamic Republic of Iran for its cultural presence in Delhi for being actively involved in this round of the festival and holding an Iranian cultural and art exhibition. An opportunity to get to know more and more of the art and culture of Iran.


Screenings of Iranian films, handicrafts and books at the festival have been widely welcomed and received attention by many press reflections.
