In the memory of Professor Ameer Hasan Abedi

 A 2 day and international webinar on the Heritage of Persian culture and literature in India and Iran

 

In collaboration with the Department Persian, University of Delhi, Professor Abedi Memorial Society and Iran Culture House, New Delhi, a two-day international webinar on Indo- Persian literature and culture and the legacy of Professor Abedi was held on 26th and 27th Feb. 2021. Twenty two professors and literary dignitaries from India, I.R. Iran, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Canada and Tajikistan have participated and presented their views on the common cultural and literary heritage of Iran and India and the late Professor Abedi - one of the prominent professors of contemporary Persian language. Dr. Haddad Adel, Dr. Mohammad Ali Rabbani, Dr. Alireza Qazveh, Dr.Shokrollahi, Dr. Kahdoie and Mr. Hekmat were the Iranian speakers of this two-day scientific webinar. Dr. Rabbani said that the moral values of Persian literature should be paid more attention to & must be highlighted. He also discussed the difference between "having" and "becoming" in the field of culture and values as the ultimate essence of Persian literature is to "become" a better human being and not just to have a better life materialistically. He mentioned that late Professor Abedi is one of those personalities who understood this capability and function of the Persian language well and was himself an embodiment of the ethical messages of Persian literature and always tried to promote it among people and students. Dr. Qazveh, recalled him as the father of contemporary Persian literature of India and mentioned the characteristics of being a father or Baba in the Persian language &literature that it is all about to have moral virtues, humanism and kindness as the prominent characteristics and these characteristics were the core features of late professor Abedi.
